Architectural Concrete

Architectural concrete is a mixture of Portland cement, silica sand, polymer resins, with natural pigment added to provide colour. It is different to polished concrete, which is a traditional concrete that is merely polished. Design concrete, on the other hand, is applied in the same way as plaster and is only 2mm thick.
The finished product is hard-wearing, flexible, seamless, versatile, with a tactile finish and is resistant to abrasion and staining. It is waterproof and can be applied to interiors as well as exteriors.
Colours and the finish can be tailored to suit any designs.

3D Textile Reinforced Concrete

Textile-reinforced concrete was developed due to our desire to offer our architectural concrete facings cost-effectively to our more distant customers and to target ecological and economic benefits by saving resources.
Due to its being corrosion-free and precise installation situation, textile-reinforced concrete is noticeably more economic to install than steel-reinforced concrete, in particular with regard to resource and weight savings.

Textile-reinforced concrete is the building material of the future
Textile-reinforced concrete using corrosion-resistant reinforcements like alkali-resistant (AR) glass fibres or carbon is economically and functionally superior to classical steel-reinforced concrete. Thanks to their excellent material properties, most notably freedom from corrosion but also lightness and flexibility, textile reinforcements have made their entrance into the modern concrete construction market and will greatly transform and extend design possibilities for architects, engineers and manufacturers of prefabricated components. This technological transformation will take reinforced concrete construction in entirely new directions, and is already making visible and lasting changes to the industry today.
The advent of textile-reinforced concrete has led to corrosion damage and the high costs associated with the rehabilitation and maintenance of steel-reinforced concrete being a part of the past. Concrete elements can be made thinner, more delicate and more efficient owing to tensile strengths that can easily exceed 3,000 N/mm², thus opening up a range of new applications in construction, exterior design and furniture. Not least, textile-reinforced concrete construction is cheaper and more attractive

Advantages of textile reinforcement and building with textile-reinforced concrete:

  • No corrosion damage
  • Durable concrete elements
  • Strength properties five to six times that of conventional steel-reinforced concrete
  • Minimal concrete covers allowing for thinner, slender and lighter designs
  • More building space is available to rent since façade designs are 80% thinner
  • Low transport costs for prefabricated elements
  • Easier installation of reinforced structures
  • Especially suited for structures exposed to high chloride stresses, such as bridges, parking garages and maritime structures.
